Visitor

Guess who's here to visit while his dad is away..... LOGAN!!!

He has not been here for awhile and I forgot just how much alike he and Sophie are....

I think he missed his momma.....

I know she missed him too, they have been playing and cuddling for 2 days straight now....

He is getting plenty of face washes too.

How it all began

People have asked me....why goats???
Well you see I am a sucker for a stray....my friends dad was given a Pygmy goat from an old neighbour who passed away, she was blind in one eye and stubborn as they come....but she was awesome at the same time..... I named her Elly Mae.

She thought she was a dog....followed me everywhere outside....slept on the doorstep....would bang on the door if she wanted to be pet...loved rides in the truck, once I was cleaning my car and left the doors open when I went inside to get something and I came out to her curled up in the backseat.

Even decided to make the dog house her home.

Eventually she got lonely so Gracie came to be her friend, she hated her though, then Ronnie came and eventually the babies. Elly Mae often got sick but after many trips to an understanding vet (OK well he really thought I was crazy for putting so much into a goat) and alot of late nights spent giving her fluids in the shed in minus 30 weather but she always pulled though. After one bad episode she went to stay at my parents and did very well there following my dad around while he did chores, I think she thought he was the little old man she used to live with. She passed away a few years ago and I can honestly say that was a sad day, she was one of a kind thats for sure.

I found these of the little family when I was sorting through pictures.

The barn cats suffered from an identity crisis too, they thought they were goats.

I forgot just how stinking cute they were!

Sad Farewell

The goats went off to their new home today..... after much contemplating I decided to find them a new home. They love being with the horses and since the horses have run of the field the goats liked to wander with them and end up at my uncles and he was not too happy about it, even Fort Knox fencing could not keep them in some days.

Chachi

Joni

Ruby (the daughter)

Max (the son)

Gracie (the mom)

Ronnie (the dad)

I am going to miss them and really wish I lived somewhere else so it would not be a problem...I am sure they will be ok, its my friends parents who took them and promised me they would not eat them....

Smitten

I am not really sure why but I FREAKING love this dog.....

She is so odd....so neurotic....and just plain strange but yet so cute and cuddly at the same time.

16 More Sleeps!!

I am so exicted, can you tell. Myself, Tim and my 2 youngest sisters are off to Vegas in 16 more days, I am really looking forward to some time off from work, rescue and everyday boring life.

After some major stressing about what to do with the dogs while I am away, since my dog sitter is coming along, I think I have it all figured out.

Zoey is going to stay with Uncle Allan and cousin Izzy, Miss Rayna is going to watch Roxy and my other sister and her 2 little ones are going to stay at my house with the rest of the crew. Zoey is not a big fan of kids so she wanted a holiday too and Rayna has asked to watch Roxy since I got her 2 years ago so this seemed like a good time. It just seemed easier for them all to stay home rather than farming them out to everyone, that and my sister is ok with Casey is his quirkyness, Baylee and her beeotchiness, Sophie and her annoyingness and Rylee and his cuteness!

I will still worry while I am gone that they are ok, but I know they are in good hands.....

A walk in the park

With the nice weather this weekend we decided to take Sophie, Baylee and Jessi to Popson Park for a walk and a swim.

Sophie was her usual water loving self and would not stay out of the river.

Jessi much preferred to stay on the shore and watch what was going on, I am not sure she is used to going for walks but did great!

Baylee even decided to go into the water which was a first for her, usually she will only get her feet wet.

Sophie hopes the nice weather will stick around for awhile longer so she can get a few more swims in.

Jessi was exhausted by the time we left, we got to the top of the hill and she was already trying to go to sleep.

Bad Marlee

This is my little chihuahua.....

This is my little stoned chihuahua....

Why you ask, well Marlee felt the need to beat her up tonight, not sure why, wish I knew, but after a short, very expensive visit to the vet, she is resting comfortably thanks to some puppy narcotics.

I am so sick about the whole thing, poor little Roxy, I just wish I knew what the issue was. Needless to say Marlee is not allowed sleepovers anymore.
