Fun In the Sun
I bought the dogs a pool today, Nik decided he should play in it too.... Casey was the only one patient enough to go in with him....
Can you tell how happy Casey is to be in there?
Poor Casey....
I told him if he just stood there it would be over soon enough....
Sophie had her follow up appointment today, she has been doing great all weekend and Kendra the vet is very happy with her progress, and best of all the test results for the tissue samples came back and its not cancer!!!

Vogue
My favorite photos are usually the ones that do not make it to the blog. Roxy is my favorite subject, she likes to pose for me, which is strange considering her tom boy attitude. Too stinking cute for words!!!

Quirks
I was talking with a friend the other day and we were discussing people and their quirks and it got me thinking about how each of my dogs has a quirk of their own....
Sophie - feels its necessary to bring anything dead she finds in the field to me. Usually dead pigeons that have met their untimely demise by flying into the horse shed. She is grinning ear to ear and wagging her tail, so proud of her new find and I am sure if she could talk she would be saying "Look Ma, look, look, look what I found, arent you proud of me!!!".
Baylee - Herds, everything and anything... Her favorite is anything small and a baby, kittens, puppies, the bunny, the goats, anything, she will stalk and stare for hours if you let her, never hurting them but not letting them pass her, if she could talk you would hear and evil laugh followed by "Suckers, I got ya now!!!".
Rylee - his is very cute actually. Every morning when I leave the house he waits about 2 minutes and then howls like a coyote. If anyone else were to hear they would think someone was beating on him, but he is just saying goodbye. I have noticed that lately the other dogs join in with him too, its cute to hear the doggie chorus before heading to work, puts a smile on my face everytime.
Casey - he is an OCD eye licker. He makes sure everyone in the house gets a cleaning daily. I have been trying soooo hard to break him of this and thought success was in sight... until I noticed the other days he has just moved onto their ears now instead.
Zoey - she is a bum scooter. She gets soooo excited sometimes when I get home or she wants a treat that she just cannot contain this excitement and barks like crazy while scooting her bum across the floor. Cute if you are alone, kind of embarrassing if you are in public.
Roxy - she has quirk overload, not sure if it has to do with the peanut size brain but it just adds to her cuteness. There is the licking, the scratching of peoples body parts thinking if she tries hard enough she can crawl inside you for warmth like a blanket, climbing the babygate to escape, laying on the heat registers, I could go on and on.
I wonder if they could talk what they would tell you about my quirks????

Funny Email of the Day
My friend, also a dog/cat person just sent this to me and I laughed as I read it, all so very true....
To My Pets
Dear Dogs and Cats:
The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.
The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.
I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort, however. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.
For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine/feline attendance is not required.
The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough.
Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following message on the front door:
TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:
(1) They live here. You don't.
(2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur'-niture.
(3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
(4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly.

TOOOOO COLD!!!
With all the cold weather, wind & snow the past few days the dogs are not really liking the idea of going outside. The go out, do their business and then head right back in, they much prefer to stay in the warmth and sleep......

The Guests
So not only are my dogs here but my sister and her dog Izzy also live here. Izzy is actually one of Sophie's puppies. She does not really do much other than sleep, eat and play and did I mention sleep, she's kind of a lazy dog. Then there are the guests that come to stay often,
Logan, also one of Sophie's puppies who belongs to my brother. He and Izzy are best friends and do not like to be apart for too long.Things are never dull here and there is always someone getting into trouble.... usually its Logan...

The Brat
And then there is little miss Roxy, weighing in at a whopping 2.2 pounds, but don't let her small size fool you, inside her is the heart and attitude of a rottweiler. Sometimes I really wonder if she knows just how small she is as I watch her leap off the couch, wrestle with Casey or play with the cats. She especially likes picking on Casey, they really are brother and sister as they have the same dad, she jump on him and tugs on his ears and he just sits there
and lets her, it really amazes me what he puts up with from her.
is warm and she can snuggle up to will do just fine. She loved last year when the puppies where here, nine sleepy warm bodies to curl up with, she was in heaven. I truly believe she thought she was one of them, she would spend most of her time in the kennel with them and even now you will still see her sneak into the front porch with Sophie and cuddle up for a nap.Posted by Bobbi at 6:21 PM 0 comments
