TV Time

This is what happens when we watch TV in our house.
Zoey likes to sandwich between us....

Archie & Chloe like to snuggle

Zoey gets too hot after sandwiching and joins the doggy pile on Tim's lap.

Alfie & Sophie cuddle up close.

Jessi, well she is not really sure what to do.....notice how close she is to Tim though, this is a huge step for her!!

Where's Roxy?.....Snuggled up with me under a blanket. Too comfortable to disturb for pictures.

Fun In the Sun

I bought the dogs a pool today, Nik decided he should play in it too.... Casey was the only one patient enough to go in with him....

Can you tell how happy Casey is to be in there?

Poor Casey....

I told him if he just stood there it would be over soon enough....

He finally made his escape.
Roxy even tried but it was too cold.
Sophie finally came out and was more than happy to hang out in the pool, she wants to go swimming in the pond in the worst way but will not be able to do that for awhile so settled for the kiddy pool.

Sophie had her follow up appointment today, she has been doing great all weekend and Kendra the vet is very happy with her progress, and best of all the test results for the tissue samples came back and its not cancer!!!

Quirks

I was talking with a friend the other day and we were discussing people and their quirks and it got me thinking about how each of my dogs has a quirk of their own....

Sophie - feels its necessary to bring anything dead she finds in the field to me. Usually dead pigeons that have met their untimely demise by flying into the horse shed. She is grinning ear to ear and wagging her tail, so proud of her new find and I am sure if she could talk she would be saying "Look Ma, look, look, look what I found, arent you proud of me!!!".

Baylee - Herds, everything and anything... Her favorite is anything small and a baby, kittens, puppies, the bunny, the goats, anything, she will stalk and stare for hours if you let her, never hurting them but not letting them pass her, if she could talk you would hear and evil laugh followed by "Suckers, I got ya now!!!".

Rylee - his is very cute actually. Every morning when I leave the house he waits about 2 minutes and then howls like a coyote. If anyone else were to hear they would think someone was beating on him, but he is just saying goodbye. I have noticed that lately the other dogs join in with him too, its cute to hear the doggie chorus before heading to work, puts a smile on my face everytime.

Casey - he is an OCD eye licker. He makes sure everyone in the house gets a cleaning daily. I have been trying soooo hard to break him of this and thought success was in sight... until I noticed the other days he has just moved onto their ears now instead.

Zoey - she is a bum scooter. She gets soooo excited sometimes when I get home or she wants a treat that she just cannot contain this excitement and barks like crazy while scooting her bum across the floor. Cute if you are alone, kind of embarrassing if you are in public.

Roxy - she has quirk overload, not sure if it has to do with the peanut size brain but it just adds to her cuteness. There is the licking, the scratching of peoples body parts thinking if she tries hard enough she can crawl inside you for warmth like a blanket, climbing the babygate to escape, laying on the heat registers, I could go on and on.

I wonder if they could talk what they would tell you about my quirks????

The Jerk

After my Great Pyrenese, Nike, passed away I thought the last thing I ever wanted was another dog. She was my first dog and I took it very hard. But the days passed and it was just Buddy, Baylee, Rylee & me, and it really felt like something was missing. I had been looking on the different rescue sites and thought maybe this time I wanted something a bit smaller than Nike was, and feel in love with all the cute chihuahua's I saw. But unfortunatley none of the ones that where avaliable seemed to fit in with my other three, and then someone told me about a website for a breeder. I went on there to have a look and saw this cute little pom/chi cross that she had avaliable and gave her a call. So one Sunday evening we made the drive out to her place to "have a look", I mean really who was I kidding, so home came Casey. Shortly after we got home he decided that the best place to sleep was in his home made hammock under the bed, he made holes in the bottom of the box spring and would climb in for a nap.

Casey really is not your typical chihuahua, he can be yappy but loves everyone especially my nephew Nikolas, when Nik is here he and Casey are not far from each other. Unfortunatley Casey had a bad experience with my first foster dog a Great Pyrenese named Gracie, she was a great dog but had never really played before and was quite rough when she did. Casey was used to playing with Ben also a Great Pyrenese who was very gentle and since they looked the same he was always wanting to play. But after a few rough sessions Casey became very scared and would rather hide under the bed instead and growl whenever she came near him. Gracie has been gone for over a year now but he still feels its necessary to do sneak attacks from under the bed to any dog that is bigger than him, hence the nickname "The Jerk". Good thing for Casey my furry nephew Logan is usually on the recieving end of those and he just ignores him. But besides that he is a great little dog, loves to cuddle under the blankets, loves people, is great with little dogs, loves his brother Rylee and even his bratty sister Roxy (who really is his sister as they have the same dad). I think this is where my love for chihuahua's started, with this sweet little white bug eyed boy.
