Momma's Boy #1

I found this today and it looks vaguely familiar to the picture in the previous post. My girl sure made some sweet boys.....and her 2 girls were pretty sweet too but the boys defiantly have their mom's personality.

Visitor

Guess who's here to visit while his dad is away..... LOGAN!!!

He has not been here for awhile and I forgot just how much alike he and Sophie are....

I think he missed his momma.....

I know she missed him too, they have been playing and cuddling for 2 days straight now....

He is getting plenty of face washes too.

It never ends...

It appears that it is Logan's turn this week.... I think Sophie's whole stinking litter was cursed.

He woke is mom and dad up this morning getting sick and shaking so they took him into the vet right away and it appears he has mold poisoning. Logan has a habit of getting into things he is not suppose to and yesterday it was the garbage, which happens often, so you would think he would be watched closer or invest in a locking garbage can. With the nice hefty vet bill I bet they will now.

His temperature has gone down, he is on IV fluids but they want to keep him overnight since he is still shaking a bit.

Auntie's going to visit him for some cuddles after work and then kidnap him tomorrow and bring him home for a few days, weeks, months or years, not really sure yet.

Baby Pictures

I am not sure if it just never occured to me to take pictures of my dogs as puppies, if it was because I did not get a digital camera until a few years ago or if with Roxy & Casey being the only babies I have had in a long time and they did not look much different, but I just do not seem to have many baby pictures of my dogs.

I was looking through my picture folder today and came across Logan's pictures. I am amazed at how much he has changed in the past year, but still remains the cutest, loveable, mushy boy he was when he was a pup.

He still has alot to learn in the manners department, likes to jump up and give hugs but still has not figured out not everyone wants hugs, but every day he is getting better.
When Logan sleeps over I have exactly 5 seconds to get up out of bed or he jumps on me. Which I did not mind when he was smaller I could settle him in beside me and steal some cuddles, but its not so much fun now he is bigger and heavier!! But I still love my Logan cuddles, they are the best after a crappy day....

Sick....

I have come down with some flu/cold virus that I am thinking is pretty close to the plague, going on day 5 so I am hoping it is on it way out. So needless to say I have not been up to blogging but hopefully I will be back at is soon.

The dogs have all been very helpful though and loving the fact that I have been home so much, there is lots of sleeping and cuddling. Now if I could only train them to make me soup and get me a drink from the fridge I would be set....

The Picture

My sister is currently working on a project that involves this picture. I am hoping when she does this that she feels it necessary to create me one as well (hint, hint).

I honestly think this is my all time favorite picture and it does not even include my own dogs. Paddy, Izzy & Logan taken while they where at doggy daycare (Paws on the Run). They are littermates if you can believe it and their personalities are just as different as their looks, their sleeping positions are even different. Paddy is a big goofball who is too smart for his own good, Izzy is mellow & cute but not too bright and Logan well he is just Mr. Congeniality and a big teddy bear. I just love this picture!!

Momma's Boy

Logan loves his momma, she on the other hand wants to know when he is going home again so she can have HER couch back. She is not a big fan of sharing.

If I Didn't Have Dogs

Someone sent me this email a few months ago and even though I have had it for awhile I still laugh every time I read it.... (Number 4 is definitely my house, lol, oh who am I kidding they all apply)

IF I DIDN'T HAVE DOGS

1. I could walk around safely barefoot in the dark.

2. My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated.

3. All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, and cars would be free of dog hair.

4. When the doorbell rang, it wouldn't sound like the SPCA kennels and I could get to the door without wading through four or five dog bodies who beat me there.

5. I could sit how I wanted to on the couch without taking into consideration where several little furbodies would need to get.

6. I would not have strange presents under my tree, like dog bones, stuffed animals and have to answer to people why I wrap them up.

7. I would not be on a first name basis with a vet.

8. Most used words in my vocabulary would not be: potty, outside, sit, down, come, no, and leave him/her ALONE.

9. My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby gates.

10. My purse would not contain things like poop pick up bags and dog treats.

11. I would no longer have to spell the world B-A-L-L and F-R-I-S-B-E-E.

12. I would not buy weird things to stuff into "kongs" or have to explain why I'm buying them, or what a "kong" is.

13. I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as outside.

14. I would not look strangely at people who think having their ONE dog ties them down too much.

15. I would not have to answer the question why do I have so many dogs from people who will never have the joy in their life of knowing they are loved unconditionally by something as close to an angel as they will ever get. Who else has a friend who considers you the MOST important thing in the whole wide world all the time.

All Grown Up

Here are a few pictures of Sophie's puppies all grown up. It amazes me how they went from a little handful to the size they are now....

Izzy & Logan's pictures where taken and sent to me by Wendy while they where are daycare (Paws on the Run). We have still yet to get a good picture of Izzy ourselves, I even tried again last night with no success, so thank goodness Wendy can. (I hope you don't mind I posted them Wendy!!)
I still get to see Izzy, Logan, Paddy (Phoenix), Georgia, Dawson (Del) & Jasper (Tex) which is great, it's fun to watch them grow and see how different their personalities are.

Puppies

So the rescue took in a momma dog and 10 little puppies yesterday and I went over to have a peek at them. They are all very, very cute and I am sure they will get adopted very quickly once they are old enough.

As I mentioned before Sophie had a litter of puppies in Dec 2007, nine total, she had eight of them one day and then little Georgia came a whole day later, it was quite a surprise.

I went into it thinking puppies, awesome, they are fuzzy, cute and puppy breath is the best. Well was I ever wrong. For the first few weeks they are easy to care for, sleep and eat, sleep and eat. Then comes the eyes opening and they start moving around, still not so bad.

Soon their little legs gain strength and they start to move around their bed with the best attempts to escape their bed and then end up stranded, cannot get back in, and then cry and cry and cry.

Then comes feeding them, that was a challenge, messy!!!
And with solid food comes poop, lots and lots of poop. Did you know a puppy may eat 3 times a day but will poop 20!!!! Now multiply that by 9!!!!

Soon they are steady on their feet, noisy and moving around like a herd of elephants but each one in a different direction. And occasionally you get a moments peace, but only when they are asleep. Also this was the point where Sophie has had enough and wants nothing really to do with the little devils and hides from them when at all possible. Puppies do not care, mom #2 (me) is way more fun to terrorize, biting my socks, jumping on me with the intent to trip me so that I fall down and am on the bottom of the doggie pile.

And finally after 8 weeks of sleepless nights, the stench of puppies and no more nerves left for anyone to get on, they go home.

So needless to say my puppy experience was not fun, something I will never do again and I still wonder to myself why people do it on purpose!!!

TOOOOO COLD!!!

With all the cold weather, wind & snow the past few days the dogs are not really liking the idea of going outside. The go out, do their business and then head right back in, they much prefer to stay in the warmth and sleep......

Roxy did not appreciate me uncovering her, can you tell...

The Guests

So not only are my dogs here but my sister and her dog Izzy also live here. Izzy is actually one of Sophie's puppies. She does not really do much other than sleep, eat and play and did I mention sleep, she's kind of a lazy dog. Then there are the guests that come to stay often,

Logan, also one of Sophie's puppies who belongs to my brother. He and Izzy are best friends and do not like to be apart for too long.

Alfie who is my sister's dog, he is Roxy & Casey's BFF and they play nonstop.

And Paddy (left) & Darby who are my grandparents dogs. Paddy is also one of Sophie's puppies, she had quite the little rainbow litter. Paddy likes to go swimming in the pond while Darby much prefers to be herding the goats, she is a tad bit obsessive about it.

Things are never dull here and there is always someone getting into trouble.... usually its Logan...
